The Wyoming Game and Fish will hold Free Fishing Day on June 6, letting anglers fish without a license while following existing rules; a Kids Fishing Day is planned for Saturday, June 27 at Bear Lodge Resort Pond at Burgess Junction from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for families.

Residents are invited to join the Eyes Up: Lives Ahead! campaign — a free two-mile community walk at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30 from the Historic Sheridan Inn — to honor the legacy of Julie Fitzsimons, who died in a May 2025 tragedy.

The city will begin reconstructing West Whitney Avenue and South Tschirgi Street this week — rebuilding roads, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and utility lines.
