Oaklee Gilliland was named the new Executive Director of the Food Group in Sheridan and will begin her duties on June 2.

She brings over a decade of nonprofit leadership experience—most recently with the Wyoming FFA Foundation—and replaces Keri McMeans, who stepped down in February to lead The Hub on Smith.

Buffalo Bill Cody put on his first Wild West show in May 1883 featuring cowboys, Indians and wild animals like elk and buffalo—an event that quickly became a legend and set the stage for nationwide tours.

He later built hotels such as the Sheridan Inn in Sheridan, linking his show’s success to our local heritage.

The Sheridan City Council will hold a light agenda meeting Monday night—set for 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall—where they will review the 2024 audit, receive an update on Kendrick Pool from Project Manager David Ford, consider the 2025 Pavement Maintenance Project bid award, and discuss a cooperative agreement with WYDOT.
