- ➤ The Chamber hosted an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Apr. 21 to welcome Cowboy State Fire Equipment and Service, LLC (which sells and services portable fire extinguishers). Owner Maddy Syring leads the new member business. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Clearmont will host its 10th Annual Spring 14/16 Shop Hop on May 1 and 2, featuring local vendors, a library remodel tour, and lunch at the Community Church. Several workshops will be offered on Saturday (10 a.m. for children making Mother’s Day gifts and 1 p.m. for a Spring Bouquet class) with limited space. Sheridan Media

- ➤ At Ease Horsemanship and Wyoming PBS will host a free screening of the documentary 'Frontier State: The Story of Luke Bell' on May 7 at the WYO Theater (Sheridan), followed by a panel discussion with mental health experts and Luke Bell’s mother to promote awareness and honor his legacy. - ➤ The Jentel Artist Residency will host its next Jentel Presents event Tuesday, April 28 at the Inner Circle of the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees may bring a lunch and see free presentations from local and visiting artists. Sheridan Media
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan College, in partnership with the VA Health Care System & Workforce Services, will host the Spring Job and Networking Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 29 at the Golden Dome. Up to 50 employers will offer on-site interviews while job seekers should bring resumes and dress for success. City of Sheridan
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan College will host a two-day oil change event at the Technical Education Center this Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., charging $25 for cars and pickup trucks and $120 for semi-trucks (oil and filters sold at cost). Visitors can also tour the campus to support diesel, machine tool, and welding students. City of Sheridan
- ➤ The Wyoming Community College Board of Trustees raised fall tuition, increasing in-state costs $7 per credit hour while bordering and other state students pay $10 and $21 more. - ➤ SCSD#3 Superintendent Chase Christensen was honored with the NASSP Advocacy Champion of the Year Award on Monday, April 20 at A/C School — the assembly brought together students, staff and board members to celebrate his work-based learning program. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Josephine Walton, a UW senior from Sheridan studying biology and chemistry, received a Graduate Research Fellowship from the NSF, which provides three years of financial support + tuition assistance. Walton will begin a Ph.D. program this fall in Thomas Boothby’s lab after a competitive selection from nearly 14,000 applicants. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Sheridan County Library System Director Amy Long said renovations are nearing completion at most branches and finishing touches continue, while work begins on the Fulmer today as it remains open for visitors (the project is funded by a grant). Sheridan Media
- ➤ The A/C School Library held the April Showers Book Fair from Monday, April 20 to Wednesday, April 22 to help restock books, offering titles for preschool+adult readers. City of Sheridan
