- ➤ VOA of the Northern Rockies will host its annual fundraiser, Empty Bowl, on Thursday, Apr. 23 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall+ all proceeds benefit local veterans, youth and independent living programs. Sheridan Media
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ In April 1905, Sheridan received a $12,500 donation from Andrew Carnegie to build a free public library as local citizens raised funds to secure a site (Loucks and Brooks Streets); the library opened by October 1905 and marked an important moment in community culture. City of Sheridan

- ➤ The Johnson County School Board renewed contracts for certified staff for the 2026-27 school year during its April 20 meeting, ensuring that teachers + principals and other certified professionals continue in their roles. City of Sheridan

- ➤ The wildfire protection certificate program (launched in 2022) now expands to help Wyoming homeowners use building science to protect their homes from wildfires. Casper Star-Tribune
