- ➤ Jentel Presents is hosting a spring art event at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library Inner Circle from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 29 where artists from across the country will share visual work, writing and music—another session is planned for May 27. Sheridan Media
- ➤ On April 6th, 1917, 17 young men from Sheridan joined the Navy and left amid cheers and a festive parade as the community showed strong support. More recruits followed soon—bringing the total to nearly 50—and the town’s patriotic spirit was clearly on display. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Museum director Sylvia Bruner announced on Public Pulse that the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum History Conference is returning. The event will explore topics such as the Wyoming Bomber Crash of 1943 with speakers Jenna Thorburn and John Woodward and will feature a new book release with tickets priced at $35 available in advance. - ➤ The WYO Theater and Wyoming Wilderness Association announced they will present the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour on Tuesday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. in Sheridan. The film tour will feature selected movies from over 400 entries — highlighting mountain sports and nature stories— and offer adult tickets at $22, student tickets at $14, and tickets for children 12 and younger at $8. - ➤ Wyoming Game and Fish announced that April is a good month to view sage-grouse on leks since warmer weather makes their morning displays easier to see—officials released a guide with directions and tips for safe viewing. - ➤ Sheridan County grew 1.2% from 2023 to 2024, ranking as the third-fastest growing county in Wyoming. More than half of the state’s counties lost population during that period. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ Sheridan City Council will consider nonprofit funding requests for General Purpose Excise Tax funds at their Monday night meeting at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall — Mayor Rich Bridger explained the vetting process and Building Supervisor Jessie Koltiska along with City Administrator Stu McRae will provide additional updates.
