BUSINESS NEWS

  • A new committee was formed to support local Tongue River Valley businesses. The group held its first event, Hop Around the Valley, on April 18 and will meet monthly at 8 a.m. in Ranchester Town Hall to foster collaboration.  City of Sheridan

CULTURE NEWS

  • Forest B. Dunning, retired rancher and financial advisor, will speak on the Battle of the Wolf Mountains on April 26 at the Big Horn Women’s Club building — the event includes a potluck lunch at 1:00 p.m. where attendees are invited to help with setup.  City of Sheridan
  • The Civic Theatre Guild will close its 70th season with The Odd Couple (Female Version) by Neil Simon in May. Performances run on several evenings at Carriage House Theater (419 Delphi on the Trail End State Historic Site), with tickets available at the local box office.  City of Sheridan

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Hosted by Sheridan College with partners, the 12th Annual Spring Job and Networking Fair will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 29 at the Golden Dome. The fair welcomes job seekers including students to meet over 50 employers and join onsite interviews.  City of Sheridan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan County commissioners reported that the year-to-date total of building permits exceeded COVID-era levels — a trend noted as they started a Level II Water Study for Lake DeSmet and updated the local land use plan. This growth points to active planning for future community needs.  City of Sheridan

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Sheridan Mavericks defeated Jackson Hole JV 9-2 in their season opener at Bridges Field on Friday, Apr. 17. Four players scored two points each, including Naz Anderson + Cole Connors + Laythen Underwood + Parker Mudd.  City of Sheridan
