  • On April 18th, the Sheridan Police Department recognized Community Service Officers Ed Boone and Kris Walker during Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week for handling a heavy load of animal calls, ordinance enforcement, and nuisance issues. The officers answered more calls than any other unit and managed everything from stray pets to bat infestations—demonstrating their key role in city safety.  City of Sheridan

  • Sheridan man Cody McCalla, 34, pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter after punching 48-year-old Patrick Mudd during a parking dispute outside the County Fairgrounds and will be sentenced on Monday, April 21 at 9 a.m. in Fourth Judicial District Court — his plea agreement permits changes if the court deviates from its terms —.  City of Sheridan

  • On April 16, the Brinton Museum announced longtime curator Barb McNab is retiring after 11½ years of service. She will work full time through May 20 and then serve part time until year end to ensure a smooth transition—her contributions deeply shaped the museum's exhibits.  City of Sheridan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan County Commissioners ratified the Certificate of Substantial Completion for the Sheriff’s Office Renovation and Coroner’s Office/Morgue project on April 18th. The architect found the project substantially complete at a cost of $1.88 million awarded in 2022 to Dick Anderson Construction — the space can now be occupied for its intended use.  City of Sheridan
