  • Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns is accepting registrations for Women Build 2026 in May, when about 80 local women will volunteer to build affordable housing and help raise $10,000 for partner families.   • Sheridan businesses face online scams as companies outside the state falsely use a Wyoming address & mimic trusted local brands. Owners report that these deceptive practices are hurting customer trust and costing valuable time.  The Sheridan Press
  • The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Blacktop Consulting LLC with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting on Friday, April 10. Owner Craig Reichert said the firm provides consult paving services for driveways, parking lots and highways.  Sheridan Media
  • The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Good Science LLC with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting on Thursday, Apr. 9 at 155 W. Loucks St; the business sells premium research peptides with reliable testing + transparent sourcing and is led by owner Paige Pozos.  Sheridan Media
  • The Chamber of Commerce invited business owners and managers to register for the Ignite Conference; registration opened April 13 and the event will be held Tuesday, May 19 at the Ramada Plaza with sessions in leadership, marketing, business development + a keynote lunch with Kate Gladdin.  City of Sheridan

CULTURE NEWS

  • Music Ensemble of Audio Technology (M.E.A.T.) will perform at Sheridan College PRISM '26, inviting locals to experience innovative audio technology in a lively community setting.  The Sheridan Press
  • Volunteers and staff set up the Voices and Votes: Democracy in America exhibit at the Museum at the Bighorns to explore American democracy. The exhibit will open on Apr. 18 at 10 a.m. and leave Sheridan on June 13 at 5 p.m.  City of Sheridan

  • On April 29 at 6 p.m., Arvada-Clearmont School will host a listening session on graduation topics where residents can offer comments and must notify the school by noon on April 30; a community lunch will follow on May 6 from 11:30 to noon with a $5 breakfast menu.  Sheridan Media
  • Longtime substitute teacher Richard Martin (86) at CY Middle School is retiring after years of dedicated service following his workforce career, leaving a lasting impact on his students.  Casper Star-Tribune

  • Sheridan County Board of Commissioners lifted its Partial Fire Restrictions on April 13, 2026, allowing careful open burning + residents are urged to follow safety guidelines and monitor the local forecast to keep the community safe.  City of Sheridan

HEALTH NEWS

  • Wyoming celebrates National Donate Life Month this April by flying blue and green flags and lighting up landmarks statewide, with a Donor Dash planned for April 25 in Casper. Residents are encouraged to register as donors and discuss their choice with family to help save lives.  Cowboy State Daily

SPORTS NEWS

  • High school teams from seven Wyoming schools competed in the state's first fly-fishing tournament last Saturday on the North Platte River. Sheridan coach Joey Puettman and partners set up the club sport, with students building their own rods + learning new outdoor skills.  Cowboy State Daily
