COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Hub on Smith volunteer coordinator Marcie Morrow and director of development Ryan Koltiska appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to thank the 450 volunteers who donate over 20,000 hours each year to serve seniors and support programs in Sheridan County. Staff will visit several locations this month to show their appreciation — and the Hub on Smith will hold a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast to honor their efforts.  Sheridan Media

  • Sheridan College Dance Instructor Stephanie Koltiska appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss the Dance Department’s upcoming performance of If Only. The free show will explore life’s choices and will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, April 11 in Kinnison Hall at the Whitney Center for the Arts in Sheridan.  Sheridan Media

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gasoline prices in Wyoming rose 6.4 cents in the past week to average $3.15 per gallon Monday according to a GasBuddy.com survey of 494 stations.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Wyoming Game and Fish Department tested 5,276 samples for chronic wasting disease in 2024—and 726 came back positive, showing a 13.7% statewide rate. The report noted that CWD prevalence in mule deer bucks increased from 18.9% last year to 19.4% and that new deer and elk hunt areas reported cases.  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Monday, the Sheridan City Council approved Ordinance 2287, which amends the M-1 zoning district to require special exemptions for heavy industrial uses and creates an M-2 zoning district for light and heavy industrial activities—city planner Kelly Schroeder said three to five properties may qualify.  Sheridan Media
  • The Sheridan County Commission approved a Specialized Aviation Service Operator Use Agreement between the county and Gardner-Lowe Aviation Services, LLC to allow the company to operate in a new hangar through a sub-lease with Sheridan Pilots 307. Airport Manager Robert Gill presented the proposal at the last meeting—Commission Chairman Lonnie Wright said he supported the plan.  Sheridan Media

  • With warmer weather, Sheridan families can enjoy hunting shed antlers from deer, elk and moose as a fun outdoor activity. Wyoming Game and Fish recommends checking open lands and property restrictions (dogs can help locate antlers but must not chase big game) to ensure the hunt is safe and legal.  City of Sheridan
