- ➤ Cloud Peak Cross Fit will host its Golgotha 2026 carry Saturday morning near the facility — participants will lift barbells for a 600-meter course honoring Jesus’ carrying of the cross, with men lifting 95 pounds and women 65 pounds. Photos by Clint Wood document the event. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Big Goose Natural Area at 14 Lane Lane in Sheridan offers a 117-acre park with over two miles of mowed trails for walking, fishing, and floating on Big Goose Creek, plus a visitor welcome center. The permanently conserved space will serve the community for generations. Sheridan Media

ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ According to the Wyoming Economic Analysis Division (report), Sheridan County’s population increased by 308 residents to 33,241 between July 1, 2024 and July 1, 2025, marking the second highest county growth statewide. Overall, Wyoming added 2,031 residents during the period. City of Sheridan
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Brigadier General Shane Reeves, a Sweetwater County native with a long military career, was named president of the University of Wyoming by the trustees on Thursday (April 4) and will take office in July. City of Sheridan
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Following a drop in fire activity from the Kane Fire, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department reopened several roads in the Yellowtail Wildlife Habitat Management Area on April 4 + hazardous tree removal continues on other access routes. City of Sheridan
- ➤ BLM is asking for public input on updates to wild horse management in the Red Desert Complex, aiming to better control herd numbers and rangeland health. Comments must be submitted by May 4 to help plan revisions for five herd areas where populations are expected to reach 2,300 by fall. City of Sheridan
