COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Organizers collected donations for COMPASS - Center for Families in Sheridan and The Food Bank of Wyoming at designated tables during the No Kings Rally on March 30. These contributions will help local residents in need.  City of Sheridan
  • Cloud Peak Outdoor Recreation Collaborative is holding its spring meeting today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sheridan College Broadway Center (243 Broadway St.) in Sheridan.  The Sheridan Press
  • A/C House Indomitus is hosting a school-wide food drive through April at Arvada-Clearmont K-12 School to collect nonperishable food items for families in Clearmont. Donations will support the local food pantry + help strengthen the community.  Sheridan Media

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Actors Emmie Rambur and Noah Mauroff rehearsed for Beetlejuice Jr. at Big Horn High School on Friday; the play will run from April 10 through April 18 at the school.  Sheridan Media
  • On March 30, the Johnson County School Board held a meeting — Trustee Benito Maya discussed updates on BOCES and Trustee Marcia Goddard said the Rec Board Grants deadline is April 24 with presentations scheduled between May 18 and 20.  City of Sheridan

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A grass fire was reported near the Sportsman’s Club on March 30 — local crews responded and are monitoring the situation.  City of Sheridan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Due to an unusually dry winter and spring, the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners set partial fire restrictions at 8:00 a.m. on March 30 to limit open burning and fireworks while allowing safe recreational fires at residences — restrictions remain until spring rains clear conditions.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan County Sheriff Levi Dominguez and Under-sheriff Lt. Doug Sanders explained on Public Pulse that a section of Red Grade Road opened early through a joint decision with County Road and Bridge (authorized by the county commission). They urged drivers to check road conditions for safety.  City of Sheridan

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital will become a critical access hospital after a recent board meeting; the change is driven by financial benefits and will reshape the healthcare support provided by JCHC (more details to come).  Sheridan Media
