- ➤ Today, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., donations will be collected at the U.S. Bank Branch parking lot at Main and Coffeen during the No Kings Rally for COMPASS (Center for Families in Sheridan) and The Food Bank of Wyoming. The Food Bank will accept only cash or check donations. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Decorated veteran Lee Alley was featured in a Wyoming PBS documentary that showed his encounter in Vietnam where a former enemy’s hug changed his life (a moment that led him to organize veteran reunions). - ➤ Yesterday, a motorcade honored Steve Jones (firefighter, bus driver, falconer) on the route from Dayton to Kane Funeral Home to mark his 11 years of service; Blacktooth Brewing in Sheridan later announced a pint night on April 24, a Dayton fundraiser on May 1, and bingo on June 17. - ➤ The Clear Creek Recreation District in Clearmont will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m. Eggs will be hidden outdoors for ages 0-9 and inside for ages 10-12, with free cinnamon rolls and door prizes available; if weather is bad, the hunt moves indoors. - ➤ Chad Baldwin from UW discussed a study exploring rare earth minerals in Powder River coal (covering Wyoming and Montana) on Public Pulse. He said the potential discovery could boost tax revenue and create jobs for the region. City of Sheridan

- ➤ The Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library is updating its Wyoming Room as part of a system-wide renovation to expand services. Library Director Amy Long said a new Records and Catalog Librarian will join on April 1 (improving weekday appointment availability). Sheridan Media
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming Game and Fish inspectors intercepted a boat with zebra mussels attached as it arrived at an AIS check station today after traveling from Oklahoma. The boater worked with Wyoming & Montana officials to quarantine the vessel and require decontamination before it enters any waterway. Wyoming News Now

- ➤ A federal hearing warned that Wyoming’s coal supply could fall short by 2030 after 14 years without new leases. Rep. Hageman explained that a bill to extend lease payment periods may protect energy supply and secure funding for school construction (critical for local communities). Cowboy State Daily
