CRIME NEWS

  • A group of tech-savvy thieves targeted several ATMs (in the Big Horn Basin) during a 36-hour crime spree early last week (with incidents reaching Montana) as law enforcement investigates the case.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

  • Director Sandy Hirz announced on March 26 that the 5th Annual Quilt Show at the Clearmont Historical Center has been extended due to bad March weather and will run through Sunday, April 6. The exhibit displays 73 quilts including 34 by Addie Cook and a donated quilt raffle will raise funds for a scholarship.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan artist Gabrielle Wollert won a candle competition by using inspiration from her mother's greenhouse to create a wildflower painting — titled 'Tansy Hills' — for an artisan candle by Wyo Candle Co.  The Sheridan Press

  • The Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation will convene eight outdoor recreation collaboratives in April to plan outdoor programs across the state—official details are expected soon.  The Sheridan Press
  • The Wyoming Department of Transportation Commission awarded a $33.92 million bid to Sundance-based Croell Inc. for a two-year repair and realignment project underway on I-90 northwest of Ranchester—officials say the work will update the highway—.  The Sheridan Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital has opened a new 5-bed pediatric unit on the south side of the building—replacing the old pharmacy—as part of its redesign project that will add a new Behavioral Health facility. CEO Mike McCafferty said the unit offers a family and playroom space along with two ligature-free rooms to create a safe environment for young patients.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees approved and recognized its Director of Facility Services as safety officer (Rob Forister) at its monthly meeting (March 26).  The Sheridan Press
