Good morning, Sheridan. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 27th of March.
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Orange barrels will soon mark a section of I-90 between the Ranchester exit and the Montana border as the Wyoming Department of Transportation awarded a $33.92 million contract to Sundance-based Croell Inc to reconstruct and realign the roadway. The contractor will mill and overlay nearly eight miles of the westbound lane this season—repairing slides, bridges, and culverts—and will begin realigning the eastbound lane in 2026 with work set to finish on November 30. - ➤ Starting July 1, Wyoming businesses will not require new noncompete agreements because a new law passed by lawmakers does not cancel agreements already signed. The law exempts executive and management staff and lets companies ask for training cost reimbursements. Cowboy State Daily
- ➤ The Wyoming Legislature passed a new tax relief law that will cut property taxes by 25% for most homeowners—potentially returning up to $1,300 to many of them. Wyoming Tribune Eagle
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Wyoming buyers will see more than 50 high-end homes on sale this spring, including Sheridan’s historic Mount View Mansion built in 1912 and priced at $2.35 million. The listings feature one-of-a-kind designs—such as a grand Victorian in Rawlins and a castle-like home in Bedford—for those with large budgets. Cowboy State Daily
