COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The city of Sheridan will host its 9th Annual Community Clean Up Day on May 2 for local residents to join in cleaning neighborhoods + public spaces.  The Sheridan Press
  • Sheridan Advocacy and Resource Center’s Rhonda Weber urged support for Sexual Assault Awareness Month events for survivors. The events include a Day of Action on April 7, a flash tattoo fundraiser on April 25, Denim Day on April 29, and a specialty drink at Java Moon — honoring 25 years.  City of Sheridan

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Business owners in the Tongue River Valley have launched a committee that will support local businesses in Ranchester + Dayton + Parkman.  The Sheridan Press

CULTURE NEWS

  • Resilience, a current exhibit featuring fellowship artists, is the focus of two events on Friday, April 17. Audiences may attend an 11 a.m. artist talk at Kinnison Hall (Sheridan College) and a 6 p.m. reception at Ucross Art Gallery with live performance and refreshments.  Sheridan Media
  • Nearly 100 Sheridanites rehearsed for Rob Gardner’s Lamb of God at the Junior High School Tuesday under director Ashley Sanderson and Dr. Rob Psurny. Performances (Friday 6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. finale) will follow.  City of Sheridan

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sheridan College will add a firearms training course as community interest grows following a new state law that lowers the concealed carry age from 21 to 18 + course details and enrollment are to be announced soon.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • The Philanthropic Educational Organization is set to host a Spring Style Show at The Hub on Smith from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 19 to raise funds for women's education with local boutiques showcasing outfits + offering refreshments and door prizes with $15 tickets available at participating stores.  City of Sheridan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office and Sheridan County Road and Bridge opened Red Grade Road for wheeled vehicles from the snowmobile turnouts to Long Park at 7 a.m. on Mar. 25 (the section west of Long Park remains closed until conditions improve).  City of Sheridan

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital is exploring a transition to a critical access hospital to secure stable reimbursement and ensure patient-centered care (all current services will continue). Hospital leadership is reviewing patient volumes and community needs to support long-term local health priorities.  Sheridan Media
