- ➤ Amy Rowe—Clear Creek Recreation District Director and planning committee member—has asked for volunteers to help prepare the annual Clearmont Day Celebration on June 28, and the event will feature music by county-style singer Jeanie Briscoe as well as a free lunch in the park. City of Sheridan
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Museum at the Bighorns is three weeks into remodeling the historic Woolworth building at 171 North Main as Director Carrie Edinger updates the membership process and website. Edinger and Operations Manager Chip King are removing old lighting and false ceilings in preparation for new exhibits, and the museum plans to open its front section in June during the 3rd Thursday event with an exhibit on the building’s history. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan College and creative producer Gina Feliccia will offer the Broadway Musical Theater Intensive — a two-week summer program for performing arts students ages 15 to 26 — from June 13 to 29. Registration will close March 30 as an anonymous donor has paid 75% of the tuition costs. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Sheridan Region Fisheries Supervisor Paul Mavrakis of Wyoming Game and Fish will retire on March 28 after 29 years of service, and he will take a new role as Operations Manager at Lake DeSmet for Johnson County—he will also have more time for fishing, golf and refereeing basketball. - ➤ At Monday night’s City Council study session, city officials discussed a resolution to allow special exemptions for M1 properties with heavy industrial use affected by upcoming zoning changes. The City Council will consider third reading of Ordinance 2287 and, if passed, eligible property owners (3 to 5) will have six months to apply for the exemption. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Former U.S. Senator Al Simpson will lie in state at the Wyoming Capitol Rotunda on March 27–28 where the public can visit until 8 p.m. on Thursday and again at 7 a.m. on Friday. A military procession will arrive at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday with brief remarks from Chief Justice Kate Fox before a military recession and short prayer service occur at 2 p.m. on Friday, and his family will host a free celebration of life on March 29.
