- ➤ Sheridan Community Land Trust is seeking volunteers to prepare Big Goose Natural Area for community use on March 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers will work on tasks such as mowing trails, installing signs, and removing debris as the organization plans to invest $500,000 over five years to improve the area. - ➤ Chase Christensen, superintendent of Arvada-Clearmont SCSD#3, was named the 2025 Principal of the Year by WASSP after receiving the award in Washington D.C. earlier in March—he credited his staff and work-based learning programs, including partnerships with Sheridan College, SCSD#1, and SCSD#2, for his success. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Supervisor Walker Billings explained on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse that his team is using the winter months to remove invasive weeds—such as ventenatta and medusa head—to stop their spread after the Elk Fire. - ➤ At their regular meeting this week, Sheridan County Commissioners approved Resolution No. 25-03-005 to designate banks for holding public funds from the airport, library system and fair association. The resolution authorizes the treasurer or a designated deputy to invest funds in approved institutions including First Federal Bank and Trust, First Interstate Bank, First Northern Bank of Wyoming, Security State Bank and Wells Fargo Bank.
