BUSINESS NEWS

  • Union workers at the local trona mine reached an $800K settlement that ended a yearslong overtime dispute. A union representative praised new owners for renewed cooperation, marking a positive move in labor relations.  Casper Star-Tribune

CULTURE NEWS

  • The WYO Performing Arts + Education Center will host a Benefit Ball on Mar. 21 with Jukebox Saturday Night headlining an evening of music, dancing and philanthropy in Sheridan. Community members are invited to step back in time at this festive event.  The Sheridan Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Superintendent Charles Auzqui briefed the school board on plans for a new Sheridan College facility — the board approved $400,000 in November for 11 acres at South Main Street and Bypass Road across from Buffalo High School.  Sheridan Media

HEALTH NEWS

  • Amie Holt Care Center Administrator JoAnn Kay reported staffing issues to the hospital board and noted that the facility currently houses 38 residents. She said plans are underway to increase the census until the center reaches its capacity of 44.  Sheridan Media

  • The Sheridan Hawks overcame a 3-1 deficit to tie the Sabres 3-3 in regulation Friday at Whitney Rink — they clinched a 4-3 overtime win to sweep the three-game Frontier Division playoff semifinals.  City of Sheridan
