- ➤ The SCSD#1 Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, March 11 in Big Horn to review a presentation on Big Horn Middle School—Principal Brian Lawson outlined plans to update the mission statement while Literacy Coach Ashley Mines discussed a new data driven support for students. Student representatives from Tongue River and Big Horn High Schools shared updates on sports and prom dates, and the board approved policies and administrator contract renewals with the next meeting set for April 15 in Ranchester. - ➤ U.S. Senators Barrasso and Lummis backed the HALT Fentanyl Act, a measure to stop illegal fentanyl from entering our country. The Senate passed the bill on March 15th by a vote of 84 to 16 — it now moves to the House for review. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Former U.S. Senator Al Simpson, 93, died Friday and left a deep mark on local and national politics—he pushed for a $100 million trust fund for uranium miners and was known for working across party lines. - ➤ Sheridan City Council will review an ordinance to amend the M1 Industrial Zoning District and adopt an M2 Heavy Industrial District and receive an update on construction projects from City Engineer Thomas Morneau during Monday’s meeting—set for 5:30 pm in City Hall Council Chambers.
