  • Longtime rancher Don Roberts donated 544 acres valued at $3.75 million to the local land trust along Sheridan’s western edge. His gift established two natural areas – Gillispie Draw and Ridgetop – to protect ranchland, wildlife habitat and public trails.  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • Patrick Branger, known as Patty Cakes the Clown, juggled blocks during his class for Shriner clowns at Kalif Shrine Center on Thursday. The class was part of the Pacific Northwest Shrine Association Winter Session held this weekend in Sheridan.  Sheridan Media

EDUCATION NEWS

  • South High School posted its 2025-26 first semester honor roll, recognizing students for outstanding academic performance + celebrating their achievements.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • The Johnson County School Board approved the January Employment Report on Feb. 20; appointments include Sherri Baslet-Warax as food prep tech at Meadowlark Elementary and Jaxon Parker as assistant track coach at Clear Creek Middle School + the board accepted resignations at Buffalo High and Meadowlark.  City of Sheridan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The SCSD#3 Board met on February 20 with a large community turnout and listened to Pastor Mark King and local leaders outline strategic changes; the board approved contracts for staffing — reflecting community priorities — and set the next meeting for March 10 at 7:00 p.m.  City of Sheridan
  • Bighorn National Forest is hiring seasonal workers for the upcoming recreation season and encourages local residents to apply to support improved park services.  The Sheridan Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital was named among the nation’s Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals (its 10th honor) by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, recognizing its commitment to quality care.  The Sheridan Press

  • The Big Horn Rams hosted the Wright team Friday and won 66-56 in their season finale — the Rams led early, held a 49-41 advantage after three quarters, and overcame late ties to secure the win.  Sheridan Media
