CULTURE NEWS

  • The Museum at the Bighorns held a Volunteer Meet-up on Saturday, Feb. 14 to invite locals to help with upcoming school tours, walking tours, and exhibits like the Smithsonian Voices and Votes display running from April 18 until June 13.   • Pollyanna Averett of WYO Performing Arts and Civic Theatre Guild directs She Loves Me — a production set in a 1930s perfume shop. It runs Feb. 20-21 and 27-28 at 7 p.m. with matinees on Feb. 22 and March 1; tickets cost $26 for adults, $22 for students.  Sheridan Media
  • The Jentel Artist Residency Program is hosting its second Jentel Presents event on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library. EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Wyoming Extension welcomed Zachary Hein as the new 4-H youth development educator for Sheridan County — his appointment is expected to boost local youth programs.  The Sheridan Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital will launch Patient Safety Awareness Week on March 8 to highlight staff efforts and best practices that keep patients safe — patient surveys and recognition programs will help monitor and improve care quality.  Sheridan Media
  • Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s new $18 million behavioral health unit will soon open with staff adopting a novel mental health care framework suggested by visiting psychiatrist Eric—designed to replace the old ‘all or nothing’ model and improve local services.  The Sheridan Press

  • The Sheridan WYO Rodeo is among the top 60 professional rodeos and will be a stop on the 2026 Playoff Series presented by Pendleton Whisky for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.  The Sheridan Press
