COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On February 14, over 200 people attended the FFA Alumni Sweethearts and Scholarships Dinner and Dance at Clear Creek Recreation Center in Clearmont. The event began at 6 p.m. with a cash bar at Arvada Bar and featured a last-minute silent auction with live auction items.  Sheridan Media
  • The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 27th Annual Awards of Excellence at the WYO Theater on Wednesday, Feb. 25, with a reception at 5 p.m. + a ceremony at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $67 for adults, $37 for ages 12–18, and free for children under 12.  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Fun Piano Show performers energized the crowd yesterday at the Advocacy & Resource Center's Love Shouldn't Hurt Friday event at the Kalif Shrine Center, drawing community members to a lively musical display.  Sheridan Media

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Local nonprofit Science Kids will hire lead instructors, assistant instructors, and bus drivers for its summer camp season (summer 2026) in Sheridan. Interested applicants should apply soon to join the team.  The Sheridan Press
  • Wyoming Connections Academy is now accepting enrollment for the 2026-27 school year, offering a tuition-free virtual K-12 program statewide.  The Sheridan Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Sheridan launched a new punch card system for free disposal services at the City Landfill, with cards mailed to residents about two weeks ago. Residents who did not receive a card should contact the city for assistance.  Sheridan Media
  • On Monday, a Senate committee advanced SF-125 to impose a hard-freeze on most Business Council activities until June 30 next summer while lawmakers work to rebuild the agency and safeguard its key programs.  Cowboy State Daily
  • The county commission approved the Bucking Iron Business Park Subdivision (with minor recommendations from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works staff) and this decision will support planned development in Sheridan County.  Sheridan Media
