  • CHAPS Equine Assisted services, a nonprofit funded by General Purpose Excise Tax, updated the Sheridan City Council on its volunteer work—90 volunteers helped in 2025, with one donating over 542 hours.  Sheridan Media
  • The Sheridan Press staff earned statewide recognition at the Wyoming Press Association conference in Casper on Jan. 17, marking a notable achievement in local journalism.  The Sheridan Press
  • REACH Sheridan partnered with the sheriff’s office to spread autism awareness among local families, marking a new community effort to share resources and information.  The Sheridan Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At a Community Forum on Wednesday, Feb. 4, SCSD#2 superintendent finalists answered questions on school funding, each proposing ideas to secure additional resources & attract more students. The event, attended by staff, parents and the public, will conclude with further candidate responses later.  Sheridan Media
  • Megan Garnhart has begun her role as executive director at the Wyoming Association for Career and Technical Education, aiming to enhance career training programs statewide.  The Sheridan Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Senator John Barrasso recognized three Wyoming women competing at the 2026 Winter Olympics during his Senate floor remarks today. The games are underway in Italy and will continue until Sunday, Feb. 22 at Verona Arena (his remarks included brief athlete backgrounds).  Sheridan Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • Tongue River Lady Eagles and Big Horn Lady Rams played a rivalry game at Dayton on Thursday. The Lady Rams won 45-27, with Emma Sopko (22) making a key play against Tegan Butler.  City of Sheridan
  • Sheridan County YMCA announced Spring Soccer registration, with sign-ups closing March 27. Executive Director Liz Cassiday shared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse that youth sports can improve mental health — a benefit supported by recent research.  Sheridan Media
