ECONOMY NEWS

  • A GasBuddy.com survey shows Wyoming gasoline prices rose 2.7 cents Monday to average $2.51 per gallon across 494 stations + indicating continuing price pressure.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle
  • A Trace One study using federal pricing data showed that Wyoming residents spent an average of $725 on groceries by December 2025, with groceries accounting for 47.4% of food spending (above the national 43.5% share) amid steep price increases for beef and coffee since the pandemic.  Wyoming News Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Wyoming Extension is offering interactive Zoom trainings for 4-H volunteers to share research-based skills and earn training credits. New sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. and Tuesday, March 31 at 6 p.m. (new volunteers must enroll online).  Sheridan Media

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking nominations for the Outdoor Hall of Fame and Youth Conservationist of the Year award, with submissions due by March 31. Selected nominees will be inducted at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody in November — nomination packets are available on the department’s website.  Sheridan Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • In July 2025, Wyoming’s total resident population reached 588,753—an increase of 2,031 from July 2024—according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates.  The Sheridan Press
  • Last week, about 20 public information officers attended a FEMA training course in Sheridan to improve media responses through a mock press conference; Big Horn County Emergency Management Coordinator LaRae Dobbs offered practical tips (highlighting how clear answers avoid common pitfalls).  Sheridan Media

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Hub on Smith’s Help at Home program earned accreditation and will now offer skilled nursing services to help seniors stay home. Clinical Manager and RN Sherri Burr works with each client (assessing eligibility to provide household and personal care).  Sheridan Media
  • At a recent hospital board meeting, CEO Luke Senden announced two new hires for Johnson County Healthcare Center. Maranda Koch will start later this spring while Chris McBarnes becomes Foundation Director to secure grants & connect with community groups.  Sheridan Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • Sheridan Hawks U19 and JV teams hosted Senior Night to honor senior players during a game that celebrated their season-long contributions. Teammates+families joined to recognize the seniors' impact on the team's progress.  City of Sheridan
  • Over 350 athletes, coaches and families are training for the 2026 Special Olympics Wyoming State Winter Games. They are preparing to race on the slopes in Wyoming — the statewide event is set to take place later this year.  The Sheridan Press
