COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Director Amy Long on Public Pulse said renovations are underway at library branches with work at The Tongue River continuing, Clearmont starting next week, and Story mid-February; the Wyoming Room collection will be reorganized in February (its renovations are scheduled from July to November).  Sheridan Media
  • The free VITA income tax preparation service will run from Feb. 3 through April 11, with office hours Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the local office.  Casper Star-Tribune

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Brinton Museum in Big Horn is hosting Zak Pullen—award-winning children’s book illustrator—at his 21st show from Feb. 5 to Mar. 30, with a free gallery talk and book signing on March 7 from 10 a.m. to noon.  City of Sheridan
  • Clearmont Historical Center is hosting its annual quilt show throughout March for National Quilting Month and is accepting quilts until Wednesday, Feb. 25. Quilters of all skill levels + volunteers are welcome to help set up displays during daily hours from 10 to 3.  Sheridan Media

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Big game hunting applications opened Jan. 2 by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department for elk, deer, pronghorn, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat and spring turkey for the 2026-27 season. Applicants should note that key deadlines are approaching statewide.  The Sheridan Press
  • Sheridan Community Land Trust will mark 20 years by hosting the Fly Fishing Film Tour on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the WYO Theater. The event begins at 5:45 p.m. and will raffle prizes plus support conservation projects along Big Goose Creek.  Sheridan Media
  • The Wyoming Game and Fish Department reminds local hunters that tickets for the 2026 Super Tag raffle are on sale until Feb. 2; winners will be announced mid-February and revenue funds local conservation projects (supporting habitat improvements for big game such as moose, elk and mountain lion).  Sheridan Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • At Tongue River High School in Dayton on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, the Lady Eagles beat the Moorcroft Lady Wolves 58-44, with Trinity Boyer's action upending Emma Sopko for a loose ball (a key moment in the win).  Sheridan Media
  • At Dayton on Friday, Jan. 30 the Tongue River Eagles lost 63-57 to the Moorcroft Wolves + junior Kenyonn Snell hit the final three-pointer that edged out Laiden Huckins for the game.  Sheridan Media
  • The Sheridan Lady Broncs beat the Campbell County Lady Camels 50-22 Friday, Jan. 30 — as the team limited the Camels to nine points in the second half with Ella Bilyeu making key plays.  Sheridan Media
