- ➤ The Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Black Mountain Nordic during an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Jan. 28; the group promotes Nordic skiing and non-motorized winter recreation in the area. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Resilience, a new exhibition at the Ucross Art Gallery, opened Jan. 29 and displays works by 2025 Ucross Fellowship Native American Artists. Free events include an artist talk at 11 a.m. at Sheridan College & a reception at 6 p.m. on April 17; the exhibit runs until May 15. Sheridan Media

- ➤ Sheridan High School senior Olivia Hardesty was nominated by U.S. Senator John Barrasso for the U.S. Air Force Academy—a nomination that recognizes her strong academic record—and it marks a proud milestone for local talent. The Sheridan Press
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Sheridan County Conservation District is helping landowners recover from the 2024 Elk Fire by removing hazard trees, protecting water intake, and replacing infrastructure + they are monitoring water quality on the Tongue River watershed and plan to add turbidity sensors when more funding is available.
