COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Clarence Montano, an AARP volunteer, invites all Sheridan residents to join the Community Action Team to make a difference and meet neighbors. The team plans local events such as free movie nights + sports activities and food drives to support local needs.  Sheridan Media
  • The Big Horn Baseball Club is advancing its project to build a Recreation and Early Childhood Center after a conditional use permit was approved by the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners on Dec. 2, 2025 — further steps are underway to shape the facility.  The Sheridan Press

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Newman Restoration, a disaster restoration firm owned by local natives Andrew and Rebecca Newman, was welcomed by the Chamber with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting on Jan. 22 at 352 Phoenix Ave. Their Sheridan office opened this month and the company also operates offices in Billings and Big Sky (Montana).  Sheridan Media

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Brinton Museum will reopen for the 2026 season beginning Feb. 6 at the historic Quarter Circle A Ranch with new exhibitions, including a 5th Grade Student Art Show and special receptions for local schools, along with featured gallery talks scheduled in March.  Sheridan Media
  • SAGE Community Arts hosts its 11th annual Black & White Photography show now on display until March 7 & will hold an awards reception Jan. 29 to recognize local photography.  The Sheridan Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sheridan College honored its 2025-26 Excellence Awards winners at a recent event, including student Gabe Purdum (Student of the Year), instructor Jennifer Nichols (Faculty of the Year), custodian Amy Roe (Classified Employee of the Year), Jake Hirschman (Administrative Employee of the Year), and Adjunct Faculty Wade Kinsey.  Sheridan Media

  • Gabriel Green, a Sheridan resident, launched his gubernatorial campaign earlier this week + his move marks a new bid for state office.  Wyoming Tribune Eagle

  • On Friday, Jan. 23, in Dayton, the Tongue River Lady Eagles defeated the Newcastle Lady Dogies 49-36 as Caelin Reish stepped up under intense pressure during the game.  Sheridan Media
  • The Tongue River Eagles hosted the Newcastle Dogies on Friday, Jan. 23 in Dayton. First-year coach Cordell Perkins remarked on the team's strong effort, highlighting players like Josh Van Horn (40) and Willeon Pease.  Sheridan Media
