- ➤ CHAPS Equine Assisted Services received a $6,000 donation + support from Powder River Energy Foundation to aid its mission of empowerment and healing in Sheridan. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ The Powder River Energy Foundation Board of Directors gave $10,000 to the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation for its Growing for You campaign to support local healthcare in Sheridan. The Sheridan Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Superintendent Scott Stults said at the board meeting on Monday, Jan. 12 that Sheridan schools may face a $16.2 million cut in core teaching funds, with a recalibration meeting scheduled for Jan. 22 and 23 in Cheyenne to discuss funding model changes. The schools continue to lead in state scores. Sheridan Media
- ➤ At Monday, Jan. 12's SCSD#2 board meeting, coach Jeff Mowry was named 4A Football Coach of the Year while other educators and student groups received honors. Board members tabled a tile repair bid for Woodland Park School — pending legal review — and approved replacing the dust collector. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Producers will attend the Working Lands Collaborative Workshop on Feb. 27 and 28 in Sheridan County as the Conservation District hosts sessions on soil health, grazing management, and livestock business strategies.
