- ➤ Adam and Amanda Bunker of Sheridan have been named finalists for the 2026 National Outstanding Young Farmer Award by Outstanding Farmers of America. The couple, who work at Papa Joe’s Produce (Adam as Operations Manager and Amanda as Office Manager), will face in-person interviews at a Hershey convention Feb. 4-7. Sheridan Media
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan’s Chamber of Commerce is inviting trainers to submit proposals for teaching sessions at the 11th IGNITE Conference on May 19. The event will offer local professionals a chance to gain new skills and expand their expertise. The Sheridan Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Clear Creek Recreation District in Clearmont will offer Coding and Robotics classes for grades 5-12 from Jan. 13 through May 12. Classes occur on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. with an activity bus and registration forms available at the Rec Center or from Mr. Rowe. Sheridan Media
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Sheridan City Councilwoman Bev Leichtnam is asking residents to join the Snow Patrol to assist community members with health issues or age challenges in winter. Volunteers must complete a vetting process and call Callie Trampe at The Hub on Smith (307-675-4953); those needing help call the City Service Center (307-675-4330). Sheridan Media
- ➤ County Commission Chair Bill Novotny said people are already launching from the temporary boat ramp at North Access on Lake DeSmet. Operations Manager Paul Mavrakis said further improvements using grant funding + settlement funds will expand recreational access soon. City of Sheridan
- ➤ Jeff Davis, the former Colorado wildlife boss who left his post two months ago, will join Wyoming Game and Fish as deputy director in a few weeks. He is set to guide the department in managing local wildlife programs. Wyoming Tribune Eagle
