COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Last fall, the Sheridan-Johnson local board of the Wyoming Community Foundation awarded $76,500 in grants to 12 local nonprofits serving Sheridan and Johnson Counties. The funding supports essential programs in arts & education, health, and community services and helps strengthen local resources. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Sheridan area ranchers are advised to keep cattle and horses safe this winter by ensuring open water (using tank heaters or breaking ice), reducing feed to prevent colic, and providing shelter; Dr. Sarah Schreiber of Moxey Schreiber Veterinarian Hospital also recommends extra feed for pregnant cows and careful calving management. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Superintendent Charles Auzqui presented corrected enrollment numbers for JCSD1 in early December. The district averaged 1,082 daily members (555 boys, 535 girls) with overall enrollment of 1,090 and may add six new students in January. Sheridan Media

- ➤ The BearCare plan, a new catastrophic health insurance model that could work outside of federal rules, has received federal backing and may soon be introduced in Wyoming. Casper Star-Tribune
