- ➤ The YMCA is selling its historic resident camp to address summer child care gaps, said Executive Director Liz Cassiday. The decision will help reallocate resources to meet evolving community needs. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ On Monday, Dec. 29, the Ramaco Foundation donated $25,000 to Toys for Tots Sheridan Chapter & The Food Group in Sheridan to support holiday toy drives and food programs for local families. The donation is part of its ongoing corporate-giving initiative in our community. Sheridan Media
- ➤ Today, residents can join the Lake DeSmet Polar Plunge at 1 p.m. at Lake DeSmet to kick off 2026 with a refreshing dip + a long-held New Year's tradition. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ In 2025, Sheridan saw events including the Brook Mine groundbreaking after a rare earth find, the dedication of Krinkee Park for fallen Sergeant Nevada Krinkee, and new launches like the pediatric unit at Sheridan Memorial Hospital and the Guard’s Vehicle Maintenance Shop — progress in local environmental and housing improvements. - ➤ The Classic Western Film Series returns to Sheridan at the WYO Theater—starting Jan. 4 with 'Along Came Jones' hosted by Buck Brannaman and continuing with films on Jan. 11, Jan. 18, and Jan. 25.
