- ➤ The YMCA is selling its historic resident camp to address summer child care gaps, said Executive Director Liz Cassiday. The decision will help reallocate resources to meet evolving community needs. The Sheridan Press

- ➤ Today, residents can join the Lake DeSmet Polar Plunge at 1 p.m. at Lake DeSmet to kick off 2026 with a refreshing dip + a long-held New Year's tradition. The Sheridan Press
- ➤ In 2025, Sheridan saw events including the Brook Mine groundbreaking after a rare earth find, the dedication of Krinkee Park for fallen Sergeant Nevada Krinkee, and new launches like the pediatric unit at Sheridan Memorial Hospital and the Guard’s Vehicle Maintenance Shop — progress in local environmental and housing improvements.
